This year Lent begins on February 22 with the observance of Ash Wednesday.

Lent is a forty day period dedicated to self-examination, to spiritual fitness, and to considering the meaning and purpose of our lives. To reduce Lent to the idea of “giving something up” would be like reducing soccer to the idea of “kicking a ball.” Yes, soccer involves kicking a ball, but there is much more to it than that. Yes, Lent involves “giving something up”, but there is much more to it than that.

Lent, to borrow from the poet Robert Frost, is the road “less traveled by” and if you choose to take it, it will “make all the difference.”

At Grace Church we understand Lent to be a great opportunity for spiritual growth, to ask questions, and to experience God in new ways.

We invite you to join us this Lent for Sunday worship as well as one or more of our Lenten offerings. Lent is an opportunity for life change. With God's help our lives will be different come Easter morning.
